So without using points how can you balance out to armies for a decent contest?

So me and a couple of friends had our first AoS game the other day and since only one of us has the GH we decided to go for equal wound armies. I should have known but it ended up being somewhat unbalanced.

With any modifications adding 1 to wound rolls, does this mean the weapon's ability would go off on a 5+ ( or 4+ with extra modifiers) or would I always need to physically roll a 6?

So I'm a little confused on the wording on this- Great gutgouger; on the roll of a 6 or more this weapon deals double damage.

So what I'm asking you the community, is teach someone who hadn't touched his dwarfs in ages how to play them again, and introduce him to the new kharadrons and fyreslayers.

So unbeknownst to a lot here, I moved several months back and as such packed up all my gaming stuff. But now that I'm more settled I'll start looking for a new group in my area (NW Wisconsin) and decided that while I launched AoS with demons, and I own a decent amount of skaven and high elves...

So it got me thinking that these models could be converted into other Skaven models. The Linemen, Throwers, and maybe even the Blitzers could be Clanrats with just better poses. The Gutter runners could be... well... Gutter runners. It would be quite expensive to buy a lot to make an army...

So I always wanted to do something with Skaven, but I just don't like how monopose the models look. At least the Clanrats is what I'm talking about. Besides that, the other models look very bad since they are the older ones like the Nightrunner/Gutterrunners. I have seen the new Bloodbowl models...

Am i to assume this means these are the actual points of these previously pointless models? Just making sure before i start using a mazarall butcher of the horde.

I saw a bunch of stuff about changed and then oopsied points for forge world stuff a few days ago. But yesterday i saw a chart with points for forgeworld models and there seemed to be points for models who didnt have points before.

So, I'm just getting into AoS, after 8+ years of inactivity. I have a question on points in matched play, for my greenskins (waaaaaaaaaaagh!). If I want a unit of 40 Savage Boyz containing 2 big stabbas models, how many points will it be? If I understand correctly, the 40 Savages will be 400...

Against hordes they're amazing, unsurprisingly, but I've had some pretty good success with them against Monsters and Heroes too. They're also the only real shooting available, so that counts for a lot too.

There are abilities exclusive to Beastclaw raiders and abilities available to the Destruction alliance, can you mix and match these? Its all sort of confusing the wording wasn't very helpful regarding how many of these I can have and how many I can use per Hero Phase.
