AOS, Skirmish Question - Warband Size and generals

So today I've picked up the AOS Skirmish book and have just read it cover to cover... I really like it all, but just have one question. It's recommended warband size, assuming you are playing the narrative game, is 25 renown. However, when looking through the 'kings per model' section, nearly every model you would consider taking as your general, is over 25 points alone... and if not, it's in the 20's.
Now considering you need to have at least three models on the field, one of which a general... and let's be honest... you probably want more than three models on the field in the first battle... how have you gone about selecting your general?
 
Well I am surprised that you read that thing cover to ocver, so nicely done there. I cannot remember the last thime I can say that.
 
So as Chaos Khorne, I have a Aspiring Deathbringer sitting at 16 points, and then 9 Bloodreavers. This will switch up as the campaign progresses
