Arc rifle vs plasma cravier

So rangers are wht I got and they are more less my hold objectives so should I go haywire or plasma I mean if someone with high toughness shows up plasma better but it's one guy with 3 shots str7 ap2 but if a vehicle show up rhino drop pod landraider I have haywire which can tell a landraider to back up or lose some easy hull points and if close enough I can get 4shots for the price of one plasma cravier

For Rangers, if I give them any upgrades at all, it's the Arc Rifle. With the Plasma Caliver having 12" less range than their basic gun, you end up maybe over-extending the unit trying to use them.

Plasma Calivers are better on Vanguard, whose basic gun has the same range as the Plasma Caliver.
