Question about Artifacts and Command Traits: Alliance vs Faction

Hello, I dont' have the GHB yet (i was plaiing to get it, but there is rumors about a 2 edition so i'm kinda waiting), so i don't know what each Artifact or Command Trait do, but in a general sense, are the faction specific Artifacts and Command Trait better than the Alliance ones, or is isn't that big of a deal?

Milage varies.

I know a few who play beast claw raiders, but use destruction ga traits and artifacts

There are many more options in the Battletomes and they are more in tune with the faction, making them more flavorful and slightly better than the generic ones from the Generals Handbook. That said the ones from the Generals Handbook are good and useful. I'm using the Chaos allegiance abilities until I can check out what my Bloodbound get in the Blades of Khorne Battletome.
