3 Powerful Tyranid Hive Fleet Swarm Enemy Lines
Tyranid Hive Fleet Behemoth was the first Tyranid Hive Fleet to cross the Imperium and the initial contact between the Tyranids and the Imperium. It entered the galaxy from the Eastern Fringe, landing in Ultramar, which led to the First Tyrannic War. It was destroyed at the Battle of Macragge.
A second major Tyranid Hive Fleet invaded the galaxy, causing the Second Tyrannic War. The invasion began 250 years after the last Tyrannic War ended and the Behemoth hive fleet was destroyed. The attack was led by Kraken becoming the second major Tyranid Hive Fleet that tried to conquer the galaxy in 993.M41.
Leading up to this war, political debates on Earth led to the withdrawal of its army. Earth’s Administratum began questioning the necessity of maintaining armed forces in the galactic southeast. They argued that Behemoth had been the sum of all Tyranid activity.
Tyranid Hive Fleet Attacks the Galaxy
As eastern fringe worlds began to erupt in rebellion, terrorism, riots, and sabotage, the same adepts said the people were dissatisfied with living in an armed camp. The human army treated its protective force as the Administratum pressured the leaders.
Unaware of them, the Kraken Tyranid Hive Fleet was slowly devouring worlds. Sotha, Miral, Graia, and Radnar were among the first worlds consumed by Kraken.
After the Kraken were defeated peace brewed for a while. However, this soon changed as another Tyranid Hive Fleet plunged the galaxy into war again.
The Leviathan Hive Fleet is the largest and most powerful Tyranid fleet that has ever invaded a galaxy. It attacked from the galactic south where previous Hive Fleets had attacked from the eastern fringe. Leviathan skirted under the galactic rim and pushed upwards through the galactic plane.
In order to achieve this, the Leviathan Hive Fleet established a broad front that covered the Ultima Segmentum, Segmentum Tempestus, and even the Segmentum Solar. Leviathan then formed two giant tendrils hundreds of light years apart.
Shadows were stretched over such a vast distance between the two tendrils that all psychic communication between the trapped worlds and the Imperium was cut off. As a result, Imperial reinforcements could not be funneled through the Warp towards the beleaguered worlds.
Ultimately, Leviathan remains undefeated, even though one of its main tendrils, which was on a projected course directly toward Terra, was defeated. However, the Leviathan Hive Fleet continues to invade the galaxy and has consumed countless worlds.
