Warhammer: The Unification Wars
Have you ever heard of the war that made one Terran into The Emperor – the Wars of Unification? Read now and find out just what made a mere Terran one of Warhammer’s mightiest Emperors.
An ancient number of conflicts fought at the end of the Age of Strife were known as The Unification Wars. They were spearheaded by the warlord known only as The Emperor, to unify the shattered tribes and nations of Terra, largely under the control of the Techno-Barbarian lords.
In his mind, he envisioned reforging the broken remnants of Man and creating an Imperium that would bring about the Great Crusade to restore order to the galaxy.
Prelude to War
For several thousand years, Terra had been entangled in the chaos and anarchy of the Age of Strife. The land was divided between city-states, Techno-Barbararian warlords, and a variety of other polities. While Slaanesh was near its birth at the epicenter of the Eldar Empire, the Warp Storms plaguing humanity’s homeworld becalmed. Sensing the time was right, The Emperor began his campaign to reclaim Earth
The Emperor led his Thunder Warriors, whom he genetically engineered in secret laboratories, in a series of campaigns against the other warlords and Techno-barbarians
In addition to the Thunder Warriors, he had the Custodian Guard. Eventually, these formations would become the early Imperial Army, including Geno Five-Two Chiliad and Inferallti Hussars.
Following an alliance with the Terrawatt Clan, the Emperor made his move on Terra’s major powers through the use of advanced Terrawatt weapons.
The Conquest of Terra
While the Albians faced the Thunder Warriors with their own proto-dreadnoughts and armored ironside soldiers, they were able to defend themselves against the Emperor’s forces but at a staggering cost.
After acknowledging the martial temper and indomitable spirit of his enemy, the Emperor called a ceasefire and sought a diplomatic solution. In front of the Albian Clan Lords in white and crimson, the Emperor spoke of his vision of a united mankind.
It was to the surprise of many that the warlords of Albia accepted the Emperor’s terms, believing him to be different from previous tyrants. The warlords soon became one of the most zealous supporters of unification.
