Warhammer 40K: Darktide Update Goes Live October 4
Warhammer 40K: Darktide launch on Xbox Series X|S this October 4 with a huge overhaul in its biggest update. Players have been expecting the good news from Fatshark Studios.
This week, Warhammer 40K: Darktide launches on Xbox One X|S, and it features a class overhaul that allows players more control and customization over their characters.
In this update, deeper talent trees allow players to specialize their characters within the domains of the previous classes. Players have the option to recreate the previous classes, but they can take them in a completely different direction if they wish.
There are now exciting possibilities for the Veteran class, for example, becoming a powerful sharpshooter, a leader who supports their comrades to accomplish more, or a stealthy Spec Ops fighter.
The Veteran will have three combat abilities:
- Executioner’s Stance,
- Voice of Command and
- Infiltrate
There will be new stealth-styled talent trees for the Zealot, which will bolster the character’s faith and focus on throwing knives and backstabs.
Several key talents will be available in the Zealot talent tree, like Until Death and Holy Revenant, which will help the character avoid death, and some stat-focused talents boosting wounds and toughness.
Zealot players have access to Fury of the Faithful, Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude, and Shroudfield for their combat abilities, as well as Stunstorm Grenade, Immolation Grenade, and Blades of Faith for their blitz abilities.
As a bonus, PC players will also receive the same update simultaneously with the Xbox release. Warhammer 40K: Darktide hits Xbox on October 4, with Patch #13 available for the PC version on the same day.
The release of Darktide on Xbox and the extensive update will determine whether it finds renewed success after initially gathering a dedicated fan base and facing some criticism.
