Wētā Workshop 40k Launches Space Marine 2 Statue
The first Wētā Workshop 40k statue is final in pre-order with an amazing price tag. Wētā Workshop is set to release the new Space Marine 2 Titus statue. The designer of the 61cm tall image chose Space Marine 2 Lieutenant Titus as the model to create the first Warhammer 40k statuette.
Games Workshop unveiled the Lieutenant Titus statuette at the Warhammer World Championships on Thursday. It was also published via its Warhammer Community website on the same day. The image features the Space Marine atop a slain Tyranid hormagaunt, armed with a pistol and chainsword.
With a height of 24 inches (61cm) and a width of 16 inches (40cm), it is around 15 times the height and 13 times the width of a regular Warhammer 40k primaris space marine miniature. A particularly lovely touch is the helmet’s backlighting. This is presumably powered by the mains, so cable management should be a priority.
The figure will come in two versions, a standard ‘Battleline’ version and a limited edition of 1300 that includes alternate chainsword teeth and a thunder hammer weapon, as well as a display stand. The Battleline edition costs $1,199, and the limited edition statue costs $1,399.
As is customary, Games Workshop doesn’t mention a release date for the Lieutenant Titus model. However, it’s already available to pre-order (with a 25% non-refundable deposit). It is walking on a thin red line. To this end, the studio has promised “estimated delivery 2nd Quarter 2024.”
The community post also showed the similarities between WTF Workshop statuary and Warhammer 40k collectibles. At the same time, the studio announced the next two Warhammer 40k factions that would receive statues
Furthermore, a fourth, as yet unidentified statue is also in development. These will be Abaddon the Despoiler – Warmaster of the Chaos Space Marines and son of Horus Lupercal – and Celestine, the Living Saint – faith-powered superhero of the Sisters of Battle.
