The Old World Rolls Out Bone Dragon
Games Workshop is about to launch a new bone dragon for Warhammer: The Old World. The bone dragon will serve as a centerpiece for the Tomb Kings of Khemri, during his quest he will mount the beast to complete the pursuit of enemies. This week, Games Workshop showcased an example of the creature.
The Necrolith Bone Dragon is a new plastic kit featuring a choice of a tomb king or a high priest riding upon a bone dragon. The new miniature comes with customization options, including the Monarch of Nehekhara unit on foot.
According to the studio, the upcoming game release will roll back the curtains of the classic Warhammer Fantasy lores. There was an older story released over a decade ago with a similar title. However, this The Old World is completely unique. Some users note the striking similarities between the square bases and plastic trays that move between units.
Nonetheless, the studio claims that the game is different. It is dubbed a new game set apart from the lores of its predecessor and older Warhammer Fantasy Games. At the same time, Games Workshop intends to release new plastic miniatures for the game.
In spite of the fact that some earlier Warhammer Fantasy miniatures will be re-released, new creative designs, either in resin or metal, will be used. Notably, Warhammer: The Old World isn’t developed to be an independent game. It will become a facet or an extension of a raging battle timeline.
The bone dragon is just one example of many more to be released. Even though there is not much more information regarding new or edited creatures, it is an obvious theme. If the game is to be unique in any way, there must be figures and places that identify solely with the update.
Warhammer fans will get more miniatures as the release date gets closer.
