Total War: Warhammer 3 Gets New Approach
A lot of praise has been lavished on Creative Assembly for capturing the universe of Games Workshop’s tabletop game and creating an exciting, massive strategy video game. However, the studio has always been criticized for its DLC monetization policy. Especially the Total War: Warhammer 3.
As a result of the enormous number of factions, legendary lords, and units present in the Warhammer universe, including all of them at launch would be a monumental undertaking. For instance, in the Total War series, they span three different games and many expansion packs.
Despite that, many players considered the DLC too expensive considering the content it had. With Thrones of Decay, that has all changed. The DLC contains three new factions, legendary lords, heroes, flying units, and gameplay mechanics.

Besides offering new gameplay options, the DLC also overhauls some basic campaign mechanics for Nurgle, the Dwarfs, and the Empire. The key to Thrones of Decay’s success is its ability to be purchased individually if you’re not interested in all of the content.
Notably, the game is divided into three parts, each containing one of the legendary lords and their armies. You can purchase Malakai’s portion, Elspeth’s portion, or Tamurkhan’s portion and access all of their martial power.
In addition to the new flying units and gameplay mechanics introduced with the DLC, it’s something that has been very well received by the community. This makes Total War: Warhammer 3 – Thrones of Decay a favorite of many players. The DLC also introduces new flying units, gameplay mechanics, and ways to enjoy the game.
Probably, Thrones of Decay is likely to change Creative Assembly’s approach to releasing extra content going forward. Let’s see if it really changes after the next DLC is announced.
