Warhammer Age of Sigmar Drops 2 Complete Armies
Skaventide is the next Warhammer Age of Sigmar boxset. It is complete with 74 miniatures, terrain, hefty hardback books, cards, and a double-sided board. Skaventide is jam-packed enough to rival Gloomhaven.
Games Workshop has hinted that the Age of Sigmar revised edition is nearing release, but we don’t know exactly when that will be. We believe that it will soon.
Within the box are two complete Armies for the new Spearhead game mode. Each army consists of 1,200 points, with 24 Knightly Stormcast Eternals and 50 Skaven Ratmen. Spearhead rules let you play with any of the other 23 factions available.

In addition, with Skaventide you get the same core rulebook as the standard edition, but with a unique cover. This combined with the included matched play cards lets you play Age of Sigmar at numerous levels. My first interest is piqued by the Stormcast Eternals. These fantasy Space Marines look pretty neat and have excellent lore, but I didn’t connect with them because of their rigidity.
While this new force has a cool backstory about Stormcast and what may as well be their ‘last life,’ they’re also a little rougher around the edges, which appeals to me very much.
Games Workshop clearly understood the objectives here, as the models are appropriately gnarly and it has been long since the range was updated. More rat ogres, wonky snipers, and hordes of chittering warriors? Games Workshop certainly knows what they’re doing
