A new boxed set for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Skaventide, was announced by Games Workshop today. Skaventide will be available for preorder on June 29, 2024, and will be released on July 13, 2024.
There is an epic battle between the Stormcast and Skaven armies that will determine the fate of the Mortal Realms. The boxed set will deploy new miniature pieces that will allow new armies to face each other in a new frontier and maps.
Skaventide’s release coincides with The Slaughter at Hel Crown, an in-store, global campaign series where players can decide the fate of Hel Crown. The event runs for three weeks after Skaventide’s release.
The Global Battle for Hel Crown -Skaven
In the summer of 2013, Games Workshop will launch another Global Battle to decide the fate of the Hel Crown. Which side will you choose?
Games Workshop is running a launch-box event for Age of Sigmar, similar to the Battle for Oghram launch for Warhammer 40k 10th edition. This time, it will decide the fate of Hel Crown, a stronghold of the new Skaven war.
According to a Warhammer Community post, The Skaven are aware of the impending danger and will defend their stronghold.
“Should the forces of Order hold Hel Crown, it would be the ideal beachhead from which to strike deep into the heart of the Gnaw. The Skaven, for their part, are all too aware that this flank of the Gnaw may yet be seized by the storm-things after their first encounters with the Ruination chambers.
“Rats have swarmed forth in their thousands to claim this vital port, further curdling its surface and causing the very air to scratch at the lungs of mortal intruders. Its surface is now pocked with warpstone mines to obliterate unsuspecting strike forces whilst Jezzail sniper-posts line the island’s edges. Hidden monster pens full of Moulder experiments writhe with mutant filth, just waiting to be sprung free via carefully laid traps.”
