Space Marine 2 – Complete Playable Build Appears Online
A complete development build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2 has somehow leaked online. While it is fully playable, some assets are still missing. The game is set to be released on 9 September 2024.
Apparently, the build includes Linux server binaries so players can connect and cooperate with their friends. The files contain a debug exe file and a development playground
Despite its availability, downloading the Space Marines 2 dev build is not a good idea. There is a significant risk of malware and viruses lurking in the files. This wasn’t intended to go online so soon before launch.
Users Spreading Space Marine 2 Build Web Wide
As expected, players are having an open field at the unfortunate occurrence. There is now in-game footage of Space Marines 2 available on YouTube due to the dev build appearing online. While you can watch this footage, be warned that there are spoilers for the full release.
Considering how polished this Space Marines 2 dev build is, it’s probably a recent build. Since the game was just announced as going gold, so it makes sense that the online dev build would be clean.
As of now, the developer build seems to be playable from start to finish, with very few frame issues or bugs along the way. However, we do not know whether this is a valid build of the game. Notably, the developer build was leaked to a tracker with a June 20, 2024, date next to it, suggesting that this may be one of the final builds.
In the meantime, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have not commented on the build online. However, it is likely that they will try to remove it and launch an investigation into the matter. While there are no details available, it is easy to conclude that there is some sort of foul play involved.
