Warhammer 40K: Kill Team – Games Workshop Adds New Editon
A new edition of Warhammer 40K: Kill Team called Hivestorm, sold in the form of a box set, has been teased by Games Workshop for days. The announcement comes on the heels of a garage of teasers released by the miniature giant.
The first novelty is that there will be beautiful new sculptures for both the Militarum Tempestus Aquilons and the Vespids from the T’au Empire in this box set. The game is set in the Imperial world of Volkus.
According to GW, the Tempestus Aquilons fight with grav-chutes and hot-shot las weapons, “hit much harder than the standard Imperial lasgun.” there is also short-range combat, so some sculpts have melta carbines as well.

Among other weapons, the Vespids use “vicious” neutron blasters, which, as described in science fiction, were “short-range weapons emitting deadly radiation from the unique crystals of the Vespid homeworld.” With the assistance of an MV44 Oversight Drone, the Vespids can receive and execute complex orders from the T’au Shas’ui handlers, and are trusted by the empire to use experimental technologies.
Moreover, this box includes the new set of core rules for Kill Team. Claimed to be “clearer and easier to read than ever before”. It is confirmed to be a softback edition, with a hardback edition to follow in due course.
The new rules modify existing and released sculpts, as well as updating universal weapon rules, which are included in the set next to sculpt-specific rules. There will be more things coming soon from Kill Team. The kill-team is the primary tactical formation of the Deathwatch, engaging the bulk of their xenos opponents and bringing about their objectives through engagement.
The difference between Kill Team and other Warhammer 40K games is that each model in your squad is treated separately. In full scale Warhammer 40K, a squad of Space Marines would be treated as a single unit.
