Warhammer Preview – The Children of the Great Horned Rat
Skaven – all classes of rats are on the move. Taking to the streets in a torrent, the Skaven appears in an uncountable horde, with a whole horde of new miniatures and a Battletome going on pre-order next week. This Warhammer preview showcases the rats and more.
Battletome: Skaven is the ultimate companion for these vile ratmen providing all the tools to play with them. The Skaven are now the ascendant, their scabrous god established within Chaos’ pantheon, and their desire to consume manifesting in real-time.
According to the community blog post, Battletome: Skaven brings everything needed to get your army up and running.
At 128 pages long with an eight-page gatefold section, Battletome: Skaven is packed with lore, and features Battle Traits, Battle Formations, Heroic Traits, Artefacts of Power, and Spell, Prayer, and Manifestation Lores. There are 43 warscrolls covering the vast menagerie of Skaven characters, troops, horrors, and war machines, plus rules for the Gnawfeast Clawpack Spearhead, two Armies of Renown, and two Regiments of Renown.
Warhammer Preview – Battletome: Skaven
Warhammer Age of Sigmar’s latest edition features Gamer’s Edition Battletomes that contain all the same great content, but in a more compact format – find out all about them in the video above. There are 61 rules reference cards included in the Skaven edition, including the rules for Spearhead, and Armies and Regiments of Renown; these are kept in an envelope in the back of the book.
In addition, there are two new Skaven armies or Spearhead forces. The blog post goes into more detail about the set’s content.
The Skaven have amassed two mighty Spearhead forces. One is available in the Ultimate Starter Set, while the second is a new release. This is the Warpspark Clawpack, featuring 25 miniatures, including a classic Grey Seer, leading three Stormfiends – fusions of moulder experiments and Skryre tech – a Warp Lightning Cannon, and 20 new Clanrats. Rules for using this Spearhead in the bespoke game mode will be available for free on Warhammer Community, or you can simply add them to your army as flea-bitten reinforcements.
