Games Workshop Launches Realms of Ruins Xbox Controlers
Game development studio Games Workshop is celebrating the launch of its Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin tabletop game. The controllers were created to commemorate the game and are exclusively available to Warhammer+ subscription service subscribers. However, other players may win one by participating in a prize draw for their X followers.
According to the studio, each of the four controllers represents a playable Realms of Ruin faction. These include Stormcast, Flesh-eater Courts, and two additional factions still to be unveiled. The other factions will be revealed later date.
The identity of the company responsible for designing and manufacturing the controllers remains anonymous However, some promotional images show distinctive features such as cool blue and gold buttons and vinyl skins with custom designs.
In addition, Games Workshop is using propaganda as a unique marketing tool to increase subscribers. Also included in the prize package of limited edition controllers are a “Realms of Ruin t-shirt, poster, and notebook.” Yet, the company sweetens the deal even more.
All new subscribers to the new Mortal Realms RTS game will receive exclusive cosmetic items, including a player portrait, player portrait frame, and player banner. Subscription must be to Warhammer+ subscribers by November 30.
As we approach the festive season and the Thanksgiving holiday, Games Workshop is pulling gears to complete promises and keep the gaming community happy. Some of these upcoming events include:
- A one-hour long preview for 7 games on November 17
- The Atlanta Warhammer Championship
- The Realms of Ruin Release
The limited edition controllers are geared to keep subscribers loyal and happy with the studio. Premium gamers are its bread and butter, and while the community is valuable, they are its stable business. Realms of Ruin is one of the biggest successes of the franchise.
Based on the miniature game Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin is an upcoming real-time strategy game being developed by Frontier Developments. It will be released on November 17, 2023.
