Henry Cavill Will Join Marvel Soon
With the web swarming with rumors about Henry Cavill joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Hollywood Reporter magazine asked the star and you will be impressed with his answer. The actor recently made news when he signed on to an Amazon/Games Workshop deal. The agreement will see the Man of Steel star participate in a management role for the Warhammer movie series.
Cavill who started his big screen career at an early age (17) debuting in Hollywood, is keen on the idea of being an MCU character. As was the case with many Hollywood stars, he entered fame with a twist of luck. In 2001, he landed a role in Laguna, a film released in theaters. A casting director visiting his school saw his potential and cast him in 2002’s The Count of Monte Cristo.
Notably, the actor starred as Clark Kent/Superman in the DC Comics superhero movie, Man of Steel. Cavill does not have a problem playing a Marvel character, but he has a condition.
Interestingly, he may be in a position to do so! His first significant role in television was that of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, in Showtime’s The Tudors. His first major film role came with Tarsem Singh’s fantasy film Immortals, released in 2011. That is nine years later.
According to the most recent rumor, the actor is slated to play Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has plenty of other Marvel characters he could play as well. Cavill could make his MCU debut now that David Corenswet has replaced him as Superman. However, he revealed this condition in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter when asked which character he would like to play:
“I’m never going to say a Marvel character that is already being played by someone else, because everyone’s doing such an amazing job.”
