New Patch Released For Warhammer 40,0000: Darktide
Last month Warhammer 40,0000: Darktide developer Fatshark announced they were putting plans of an XBox version and additional DLC content on hold, while they dealt with various issues and complaints regarding the PC version released last November. Today the first step toward fixing those issues, Patch 4: Blessings of the Omnissiah, went live.
The biggest issue fans had with the pre-patch Darktide were a broken crafting system and a randomized weapons upgrade system. Wargear Sets have been added to the game, which save your currently equipped weapons, cosmetics and talents. Players will be allowed to create up to 5 personally customized sets.
Contract jobs through Sire Melk’s Requisitorium have been made less of a chore; they now give out more rewards for less work. Collecting Scriptures and Grimoires will now be one task instead of two, and contracts that required playing specific side objectives have been removed entirely, as they were very unpopular.
The Shrine of the Omnissiah (the upgrade system) has been given the most changes. It is now possible to permanently extract Blessings from any unwanted or unused weapon, and spread them between all characters on your account. You can re-bless a weapon with a different Blessing by swapping out the existing Blessing with one of your earned ones. Finally, the Emperor’s Gift will now be awarded after every mission, with higher difficulty levels reaping better rewards.
As for the point where progress may resume on Darktide for XBox, Fatshark has yet to reveal anything. For now the game can only be played on PC.
