Space Marine 2 Sets new European Record
Following just two weeks on the market, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has already risen to second place in Europe’s biggest new title rankings. According to Christopher Dring in a recent post on X, the game has moved ahead of all other new releases.
Space Marine 2 has topped several major titles released this year, including The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Tekken 8, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Dragon’s Dogma II, Star Wars Outlaw, and Prince of Persia.
As mentioned last week by Tim Willits and Todd Hollenshead, Space Marine 2 ranks as one of the most successful titles in Saber Interactive’s history. In this week’s update, Saber Interactive provided a detailed outline of future patches that will fix connection issues, campaign difficulty, and other issues.
Space Marine 2 Upcoming Insights
Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have released an update on what to expect from Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
In the wake of Space Marine 2’s record-breaking launch, fans have requested better customization of Chaos Marines, which are playable in the PvP mode, Eternal War. They have also requested the ability to select the Chaos Space Marines Legion they want for each class.
According to Focus and Saber, there are “many lore restrictions” that prevent the development team from doing this. “For example: we cannot make a sniper with a World Eater armor.”
“It is very tricky to match armor pieces for Chaos,” the companies said. “Armor pieces have different sizes and styles, will clip through each other, etc. Also, in PvP it is important to be able to recognize an enemy’s class, and we want to keep the visual identity of each of them. Now, we will not keep it as it is and would like to expand Chaos customization, but the reality is they won’t be as modular as the Loyalist.”
