Warhammer 40K: Darktide to Debut on Xbox
After almost a year on PC, Warhammer 40K: Darktide will finally come to Xbox. The game was released in November 2022 amidst promises of gaming console follow-up. However, despite players’ enthusiasm, the studio had not been forthcoming on its promise.
According to Fatshark, the game will be released to Xbox Series X|S on October 4, 2023. However, the PlayStation version has not been confirmed. While there is speculation that Darktide will be a timed exclusive, the developers have indicated that a port is not planned.
Darktide Without Cross-Play
Finally, the game console version is ready. It may have taken a long, year, but the studio kept its word. So, the Warhammer gaming console player community is ready to celebrate. Some of them are already setting the alarm. Nonetheless, it’s not all glittering gold.
Unbelievable! How could Fatshark delay the console version for a year? Only to tell players that neither cross-play nor cross-progression will be supported at the game launch. Even though you will be able to cross-play from PC to different platforms, consoles just won’t work.
However, the game is expected to get cross-play capabilities shortly afterward. Thus, players can grab a glimmer of hope. That said, the community will hope that Fatshark won’t drag its feet for another year.
The Warhammer 40,000: Darktide first-person action game was released on 30 November 2022. The game was released for Microsoft Windows by Fatshark. The studio considers Darktide as the spiritual successor to Warhammer: Vermintide
