Warhammer 40K: First Index Updates Ready
The gaming community has complained and asked about it over the past weeks, and Games Workshop has answered with the first major Index Updates.
Warhammer 40k: 10th Edition has only been released a few weeks now but has ratcheted up thousands of games being played and feedback has been forthcoming. The developer has been attentive but with so many unique games included in the overall update, players were anticipating possible errors and oversights.
Reporting game updates and fixes: Colored into the feedback there were also many questions regarding the Indexes and the wide range of errors, typos, and mistakes in them. So, that’s what this update is looking to fix. It is all about making one step at a time and showing gamers that their input has important value to Games Workshop.
Although this is a business obligation for both sales and PR, it is hard to deny that they have been great in this regard. Listening attentively and responding in adequate terms.
After looking closely at the games and the dates below them, it would appear that there were Index Updates across the board. Everyone except for two Indices, the Chaos Knights and the Tyranids, were updated.
Important Note
As a reminder, this isn’t a balance update or points adjustment. It’s all errata and error fixes. That means the points didn’t change and most of the rules should remain the same.
In any case, if you’ve already downloaded the old Index, you may want to update to the new version and make sure you are up-to-date. It may be fun to compare the two and see what differences you can spot…but don’t mix them up!
There is a mention in the update that the next Balance Update will be a few months away. I wonder if that will be before or after the Tyranid Codex comes out.
