Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle Gets an All Powerful Aveline
Since their new model range debuted in 2019 Warhammer 40k’s Sisters of Battle, they have accumulated many fantastic hero miniatures. This week, the debuted Celestian Sacresant Aveline mini is one of the most impressive we’ve seen in a while.
As displayed on Games Workshop’s Warhammer Community site on Monday, the new Sisters of Battle hero sports all the dark, religious artifacts of the Imperium of Man. From the ornate shield and flamethrower sword to the flamethrower pistol combo, she is well-armed.
Celestian Sacresant Aveline is being released alongside the new Black Library novel Daemonbreaker by Jude Reid. Both of these are coming out later this year, with a special edition book to go with the models.
It’s understandable that Games Worksho[ hasn’t announced the price for Aveline or Daemonbreaker, since the launch is still future. However, based on comparable miniatures and Black Library paperbacks, we imagine Aveline will be around $35 (£27.50) and Daemonbreaker around $17.99 (£9.99).

There is a moral conflict in the novel as Aveline and her sisters fight Abaddon the Despoiler’s forces in the 13th Black Crusade. Spoiler alert, the Imperium loses this war, even though its characters fight fiercely until Cadia falls. The Great Rift separates the galaxy into two halves.
Adepta Sororitas Celestian Sacresants is a relatively new unit for the Adepta Sororitas, first introduced in 2021. According to Games Workshop, they are elite members of the Adepta Sororitas who have handed their Canonesses over for their own safety.
In addition, these Sacresants aren’t armed with boltguns, bolt pistols, or flamer pistols. Instead, they port blessed maces and halberds with ornate shields for endurance and heavy-duty melee fighting.
According to Fandom, Aveline is the exemplar of her Order of the Sacred Rose. An idealist as expected, like models tied in with a larger-than-life character from the Warhammer 40k books.
A glorious flamer-sword is held aloft, bursting with fire, and shaped like the Sisters of Battle’s Fleur de Lis faction logo. According to Warcom Monday’s article, it is the “sacred relic sword of Saint Arabella, patron saint of the Order of the Sacred Rose”.
