Yuan Bo to Rise as Jade Dragon in Shadows of Change
Creative Assembly is giving away a free book to all its members and is even inviting the gaming community to read it as well. What is so important about this book? If you can remember that in May this year, the studio showcased the Total War: Warhammer 3 road map. One of the very first DLCs was Shadows of Change that the community is expecting sometime this summer 2023.
The DLC will be bringing new lords and more units to the people of Cathay, Kislev, and Tzeentch. The Cathayan lord has been revealed and is a Jade Dragon called Yuan Bo. The lord was disclosed in a short story created by the studio. You can find more about it in the original Twitter post.

Yuan Bo. the regent of Central Cathay, presents himself as a humble senator and businessman. This does not play well in hiding his talents. He can transform at will to face the circumstances or events. He can masquerade as the administrator of the town, or change into a live fire-breathing dragon. In addition, he doubles as the city’s executioner which makes him a formidable foe.
Another impressive character mentioned in the book is Onyx Crowmen. This young dragon is Yuan Bo’s flying assistant and it appears that he forms an integral part of Cathay’s defense or the Jade Dragon’s army.
The upcoming DLC is entitled Shadows of Change which indicates the presence of changers or a changer. Turns out that the Tzeentchian legendary lord is the ideal candidate. According to the short story, this dragon is a shapeshifter and a master at it too, in outsmarting with style.
Sadly, the short story is really concise and does not answer some poping curiosities such as who will be added to the Kislevite roster. There are ongoing speculations that it might just be Mother Ostankya, a hag mother who is basically Baba Yaga.
