Warhammer Rogue Trader Insider
Welcome to the Warhammer Rogue Trader Insider summary. You are about to get into the worlds surrounding the galaxy that borders the Imperium of Man. Or, this is really how the Warhammer 40K lore has it laid out. So, buckle up, you are in for a brutal ride.
Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader takes place in the Koronus Expanse, a fringe system on the edge of the Imperium of Man. Owlcat Games uses the vast and expansive lore of 40K to make the Koronus Expanse a compelling and fascinating place to explore.
Builtin Guide: There are in-game features in Rogue Trader that help new players. Certain phrases are highlighted, and hovering over them provides the definition, plus there’s also an in-game encyclopedia. A basic knowledge of this lore will aid you in becoming a Rogue Trader.
The Rogue Trader: A Rogue Trader is a captain who explores the frontiers of Imperium space, free from the Imperium’s crushing laws. They trade with Xenos, chart new worlds, and even indulge in a little bit of heresy as a reward. The role is an envious title and one that is inherited.
Unlike other video games, Rogue Trader is based on a dynasty carved on the idea of a Writ of Trade being passed on from one trader to the next. The trader passes the title to his heir. At the beginning of the game, the player is summoned as a potential heir to serve an elite Rogue Trader house.
The Warp: A second dimension exists parallel to realspace: it’s called the Warp. The Warp reflects the emotions and psyches of sentient beings. It’s also home to Chaos, the Primordial Annihilator.
Despite the Warp’s existence, voidships cannot avoid it entirely; they enter the nightmare realm and access faster-than-light travel. Each voidship is equipped with a Geller Field to withstand the Warp’s power.
Furthermore, voidships require a Navigator. The navigator of the Voidship is an Imperially sanctioned mutant with a third eye. He is essential to every voyage and its safe landing.
