Warhammer: The Old World Comes with Two Boxes
In preparation for the release of Warhammer: The Old World, Games Workshop announced that there will be two army box sets. One featuring the Kingdom of Bretonnia and the other featuring the Tomb Kings of Khemri. Each box set contains a 1,250 point army.
The Tomb Kings box includes a new Liche Priest on Necrolith Bone Dragon model as well as classic kits for 40 Skeleton Warriors, 32 Skeleton archers, 16 Skeleton Horsemen, and three Skeleton Chariots.
As for the Kingdom of Bretonnia box, it features a new Lord on Royal Pegasus, 36 Bretonnian Men-at-Arms, 24 Peasant Bowmen, and three Pegasus Knights, in addition to classic models including the Knights of the Realm and the Pegasus Knights.
This year, Games Workshop will release several new miniatures for the Tomb Kings line, including the Nekaph, Emissary of Settra miniature, Battle Standard Bearer, and Tomb Swarm.
Apart from the core rulebook, Games Workshop plans on releasing two army list rulebooks with more information about the Dwarfen Mountain Holds, the Empire of Man, the Wood Elf Realms, the High Elf Realms, and the Kingdom of Bretonnia.
Ravening Hordes will include rules for the Orc and Goblin Tribes, Warriors of Chaos, Beastmen Brayherds, and Tomb Kings of Khemri. Additional Arcane Journals focusing on individual armies will also be released, but they are considered optional.
A revamped Warhammer Fantasy setting featuring trays for moving units and square bases, Warhammer: The Old World may not fully restore the classic setting but it will bring it closer to its original form. This new game will bring back some of the older minis by placing it in the distant past of Warhammer Fantasy and will be supported as a spinoff game from Warhammer: The Horus Heresy.
Games Work=rkshop is looking forward to a busy year which will include new horizons including a TV series with Amazon.
