Warhammer 40k Inquisition – Gets New Codex and Battleforces
The Games Workshop has released a new codex rulebook dubbed Codex Imperial Agents. Surprisingly, the set combines and expands upon the rules for fielding the Inquisition, Imperial Navy, and Imperial Assassins.
In an unexpected announcement published on the Warhammer Community website, Games Workshop tolled out the new set. According to the post, the new Warhammer 40k Inquisition codex includes with three ‘battleforce’ boxes based on each segment of the Inquisition. In addition, there is a new model for the legendary Inquisitor Lord Coteaz and his two-headed cyber-eagle.
There’s no confirmed release date or pricing for either Codex: Imperial Agents or any of the battleforces, but there’s certainly a lot of exciting information to learn.
Warhammer 40k Inquisition Finally Gets an Army
Warhammer 40k lore fans will be delighted with this – not only can obscure models be fielded in mixed, story-rich Imperial army lists, but also a full Inquisition army can now be fielded for the first time in 40k.
In addition, Games Workshop confirms that the new codex has four full Warhammer 40k detachments. Players can use them to build out an entire, matched play-legal Inquisition army. These are:
- Ordo Hereticus
- Ordo Malleus
- Ordo Xenos
- Imperialis Fleet
With the At All Costs rule, the Imperialis Fleet subfaction can choose to buff all units on a specific objective or improve objective control and make all units invulnerable to all damage.
There is no change to the Imperial Agents’ army rules – Assigned Agents – and they continue to operate as before. The new book uses extra keywords to reintroduce units to the army line-up, such as Deathwatch kill-teams, characters, and Corvus Blackstars.
