Creative Assemble Shuffles 3 Total War Projects
According to Creative Assemble, updates are being prioritized for Total War: Pharaoh and Total War: Warhammer III, which will ditch paid downloadable content and provide free content instead. Touching Pharoah, where a total of four major factions will be added, along with two minor factions. All this comes to boost sales following a disappointing overall performance for the base game.
As for Warhammer III, it has shown a year and a half of strong sales of the base game. However, downloadable content sales have been lower than expected. The game will add two new factions soon and receive additional updates over time.
The game’s development will conclude with the final paid DLC expansion, adapted from Age of Sigmar’s apocalyptic scenario The End Times. Note well, there’s no word on whether they will make a standalone Age of Sigmar game.

Apparently, Total War: World War I has hit development issues and has been pushed back from a release date of 2024. The sequel to Total War: Three Kingdoms was reportedly abandoned due to several issues behind the scenes.
According to Total War Center, two new projects are coming together after one game was canceled and another is in development hell. Creative Assembly is said to be working on a Total War Warhammer 40,000 game slated for release in 2025, despite previous opposition from developers.
Notably, the development is proceeding smoothly, and it’s not regarded as a “flagship title” for the company’s non-historical titles. It’s instead something of a “testing ground” for another science-fiction/science-fantasy-themed game they plan to develop.
Moreover, in their current set of projects, a Total War: Star Wars game appears to be Creative Assemble’s endgame. The game that they have the most confidence in being sold and turning into a sub-franchise. However, it’s a long shot since Warhammer 40,000 is the company’s immediate focus.
