Gale Force Nine Mimics Warhammer Dawn of War
As a result of a partnership with 3D sculpting studio War Scenery, Gale Force Nine has expanded its Battlefield in a Box range with kits inspired by Warhammer: Dawn of War.
A partnership between Gale Force Nine and German 3D sculpting studio War Scenery led to the creation of eight new Battlefield in a Box miniature wargame scenery kits. All items are based on the Space Marine and T’au Empire buildings from Warhammer 40k Dawn of War
During the Adepticon game show from March 20-24, prototypes of the new kits were displayed. The finished products should be available from July to September 2024. These aren’t official Warhammer 40k products, but the kits clearly resemble the Dawn of War RTS series.
Gale Force Nine Copirs Warhammer Dawn of War
Among the four ‘Chapter Terrain’ pieces, the Arsenal, Machine Cult landing platform, and Stronghold are pretty close matches for Space Marine buildings. They even use the same name in Dawn of War.
A landing pad, bunker, shield generator, and listening post all have a distinct T’au Empire aesthetic similar to the Warhammer 40k faction’s presentation in Dawn of War, though they don’t directly correspond to any specific Warhammer 40k buildings.
In this video, (seelove) abYouTuber Zorpazorp demonstrates how the Dawn of War conversion for tabletop Warhammer 40k would work with the new kits. Gale Force Nine is yet to respond to respond to inquiries.
Battlefield in a Box uses a variety of materials. They are pre-painted and ready for play. Two new sets of products were also revealed in Epic scale. There are currently four prototype gothic buildings shown, including a civil defense bastion. Two smaller habitation buildings, and a tall municipal depot, were produced in partnership with Thunderhead Studios.
Moreover, Hextech terrain kits, which are all on epic scale, will now be available for the Battletech miniature wargame. These kits are designed to fit neatly onto the grids used in Battletech.
