A new Mechanicum Battle Group has arrived on store shelves. If you’re looking for a great way to start a Mechanicum Army for The Horus Heresy, then look no further. But first, let’s take a look at those models!
There are two models in the box, the Mechanicum Transport and the plastic version of the Triaro Conveyor. The transport is unique to the Mechanicum and fits all foot soldiers in the box. It differs significantly from the Space Marine transport in the Horus Heresy as well.

These are some unique features that will distinguish it from other forces such as Marines or Solar Auxilia. It has some shared design principles with the Space Marines and Solar Auxilia.
In terms of stats, the Adsecularis Tech-Thralls aren’t the most impressive infantry. Although these miniatures are quite small, they make up for it in sheer numbers. I was surprised at how zombie-like these pieces are. Overall, I think it’s a very cool combination of man and machine, going for a more “necromancy” feel.
Regardless, you get 20 of these in the box and you can go through several poses. I really like how the mechanical limbs contrast with the organic parts, which can look awkward. This is a great addition to any collection.
This Battle Group also comes with six impressive Thallax which are your fighting cores. This is a durable unit, has a few numbers, and is capable of dishing out pain. Regardless, it’s a great unit to have.
