Pre-orders for Warhammer 40K and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar’s Battleforces boxed sets go on sale today. At about 10:00 a.m. EST, Games Workshop will begin accepting pre-orders for this season’s Battleforces.
Battleforce provides players with an opportunity to try out a new faction and get their hands on some powerful and relatively hard-to-find units. Nonetheless, it’s not necessarily the best way to start playing Warhammer.
According to a community post last month, the focus on this year’s boxes will be slightly different. This year, Games Workshop is releasing six Warhammer 40K Battleforce boxes. They will contain pieces from:
- the Leagues of Votann
- the Orks
- the Imperial Guard
- the Space Marines
- the Tyranids
- the World Eaters
Another special feature this year will be the price tag. The Battleforces contain about $330-350 worth of miniatures, providing players with a minimum $100 discount. A noteworthy feature is that each Battleforce contains at least one signature miniature. This way players will pay only $200.
As for Age of Sigmar, this year’s value will be $220, however, the focus is on special factions. This year’s Battleforce boxes include
- the Seraphon,
- the Ossiarch Bonereapers,
- the Slaves to Darkness,
- the Soulblight Gravelords.
There are four new Battleforces in Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, each of which comes with a reduced discount than Warhammer 40K Battleforce boxes. However, the Ossiarch Bonereapers Battleforce box contains nearly $400 in miniatures, which is a substantial savings.
When you compare the price versus what you get, these Battleforce boxes are probably the best deal on Warhammer 40K or Warhammer: Age of Sigmar right now. Join the pre-order will even get you a more comfortable price range.
For those looking to jump into the game or want to surprise Warhammer fans for the holiday, the Battleforces will be available to pre-order later today at the official Warhammer store. These are also great gifts for young and older relatives or friends.
