Warhammer Rogue Trader Insider 2
Walk with us through part two of the Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Insider. You have already entered Warp and understand who is a Rogue Trader. There are two other factions that you must get to know. These are very important to your mission as a Rogue Trader.
The Imperium of Man: Throughout 40K, humanity is united under one banner. It is called the Imperium of Man in the universe of 40K. The Imperium is a brutal and cruel regime, built around the worship of the God-Emperor of Mankind, who sits upon a golden throne.
Each element of the Imperium revolves around the Emperor, from religion to bureaucracy. The God-Emperor maintains the Astronomicon, the lighthouse that allows ships to safely navigate the void.
As a society built on hatred, fear, and oppression, the Imperium of Man has the firepower to back up its inclinations thanks to the Imperial Navy and Guard, the Ecclesiarchy’s Sisters of Battle, and the Space Marine Corps.
The Adeptus Mechanicus: As a result of this, the Imperium is full of contradictions. They hate mutants, even though they use mutant Navigators to travel around the galaxy. The Adeptus Mechanicus, which is the IT department of the Imperium, highlights another contradiction
Assuring the Machine Spirits that reside in sophisticated pieces of technology are placated is their goal. They worship the Machine God, the Omnissiah, and use their vast knowledge to placate the Machine Spirits.
In the Imperium, AI is outlawed, so the Adeptus Mechanicus uses the brains of servitors or servo-skulls to set up computing systems. They construct tanks and guns, as well as military gear. It is also thought that the Mechanicus deals with the Machine Spirits within technology in a ritualistic manner; an unsatisfied Machine Spirit creates rebellious technologies that won’t operate.
Understanding these factions will help you play better in the game.
