All Quiet on the Martian Front to Release New Edition
You’ll like All Quiet on the Martian Front: Return of the Tripods by Abby Normal Media if you dig sci-fi, Warhammer 40k, or tank games. Kickstarter is currently crowdfunding the second edition of the 15mm wargame, which features a new rulebook and resculpted miniatures.
These new Warhammer 40k miniatures are stunning. As inveterate Warhammer 40k players, we can’t help but think they could be used as proxies if you upscale the 3D models before printing. Tanks of the larger German type would fit right in with an Astra Militarum army, while the different kinds of Tripod could be used by Adeptus Mechanicus, Necrons, or even Tyranids.
Notably, you have until 6 pm PT / 9 pm EST on November 29, or 1 am GMT on November 30 to back Return of the Tripods. You can pledge $60 for a print and digital copy of the core rules, or $60 for a digital version
In addition, there is also a $175 pledge for STLs of the entire miniature range for both factions, though you will need a 3D printer to print them. The $95 ‘First Encounter’ pledge includes digital rules and resin starter armies for both Germans and Martians.
There is a new way to play the Classic Earth Invasion in All Quiet on the Martian Front, which features WWI-like weapons and Martian Advanced Technology.
The Kickstarter page includes quickstart rules, and this YouTube video by Through Gamer Goggle shows a demo game from the first edition launch, which gives a quick overview of the basics:
The 15mm miniature scale is perfect for putting new small-scale wargames on the table. Legions Imperialis is the main game that Wargamer is looking forward to right now. To the point that we’re building custom terrain in anticipation. Check out the Legions Imperialis terrain guide for suggestions on how to build your own small-scale scenery collection.
