Nighthaunt and Disciples of Tzeentch Gets New Hero Options
Two new DLC heroes are joining Warhammer Realms of Ruin today: Kurdoss Valentian, the craven king of the Nighthaunt, and the Disciples of Tzeentch’s Gaunt Summoner. Check out what Frontier has to say about these two new heroes.
During the course of the game, players can customize their forces by swapping out their heroes. Valentian replaces Nighthaunt’s tier three hero Awlrach the Drowner with a melee bruiser who is able to mix it up.
Previously available in the Warhammer Realms of Ruin Hero DLC, Kurdoss Valentian, craven king of the Nighthaunt, smashes his mace into the earth flanked by ghostly heralds, creating an awesome column of purple energy

Valentian now has two activated abilities. The first is ‘None Shall Rule!’, which lets him drain the enemy economy straight from the enemy’s conduit or bastion without taking control of it first. Note that subverting the enemy economy to support your own will quickly make you a target.
When sprung on an enemy doomstack, his other ability, Bitter Silence, slows and damages them over time. It also silences them, so they can’t use their own abilities and exhausts them, so they can’t charge.
In the Warhammer Realms of Ruin, there is a deformed sorcerer called Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch, holding a staff that crackles with magical power. He is dressed in long blue and purple robes and his head looks like a fork and is covered in eyes.
Essentially, the Gaunt Summoner replaces the Lord of Change, which may reduce its popularity – the Lord of Change’s ultimate ability is one of the game’s most fun features. He has an atomic-bomb-style ultimate ability that you may not want to ditch.
Despite this, the Gaunt Summoner’s basic ranged attacks are high damage, and its resources are monstrously resource-hungry. Like most of Tzeentch’s army, it is vulnerable to close-range attacks.
